welcome to my story

Some of my earliest childhood memories of baking are being sat in my grandmas kitchen and watching mesmerised as she baked scones and biscuits for all of the family to enjoy. Whilst growing up I always enjoyed baking treats with my mum too, I fondly remember the old Bero book we had in the kitchen that was quite worn in the end from so much use. As an adult I didn’t actually engage in much baking again until I had my first born in 2012 and challenged myself to bake his birthday cake. It wasn’t a particularly fancy cake or indeed an ambitious design – it was a simple buttercream affair with rainbow coloured sponges...but this marked the start of my exciting journey into cake decorating.

A few years passed as I continued creating cakes for family celebrations and trying to teach myself the tricks of the trade along the way, I have spent countless hours reading books, watching tutorials and following tips in baking groups online. It transpired that I had quite a talent for baking and decorating and soon enough others were requesting cakes for their special occasions too. In 2015 I bravely registered as a food business and Storeybook Cakes was born.

My business grew quickly and I invested more into professional classes to up-level my skills and it wasn’t long before I was ready to enter the wonderful world of wedding cakes, it is truly an honour to be trusted to create such a special cake. I love working with couples to bring their ideas to life; turning those initial concepts into a dream wedding cake to be remembered long after their special day.

I’m very proud to say I am a multi award winning cake artist and have been featured in dozens of blogs and magazines, I have also been listed in the top 50 wedding cake designers for the last 4 years. I specialise in creating exceptional wedding cakes, styled dessert tables and beautiful edible wedding favours. One of my biggest passions is creating stunning and intricate sugar flowers and my designs often incorporate this element.

Being able to offer my clients an unrivalled service with a wealth of experience is incredibly important to me, I regularly invest in my business in order to keep up with the latest trends and techniques. My cake expertise has been built up by fine tuning my skills over the years along with completing many specialist training courses with some of the worlds finest sugar florists and most acclaimed wedding cake designers. This ensures a stress-free wedding cake experience with peace of mind that your cake is in very safe and extremely capable hands.

I absolutely adore my job and there is nothing that gives me greater joy and pride than hearing my couples happily recount of how they felt so in awe the first time they saw their wedding cake or hearing how much their guests took pleasure in admiring and tasting in their cake. 

In my spare time between wedding seasons I now also teach private cake decorating classes to other cake designers who are looking to learn the art of baking, decorating and sugar floristry to take their cake designs and businesses to the next level.
